Marco Sgroi

Marco Sgroi is a Manager and an Entrepreneur in the M2M sector with a twenty-year experience in the development of solutions based on wireless networks and embedded system technologies. He has led numerous international R&D projects in Silicon Valley and in Europe. He is author of publications and seminars on M2M technologies and applications.
He holds a degree in Electrical Engineering from La Sapienza University of Rome and a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences from the University of California at Berkeley, where he has developed methodologies for the design of wireless sensor networks.
He has been a researcher at the NTT Docomo research center in Germany, and Director of the Wireless Sensor Networks Lab, Pirelli and Telecom Italia research center in Berkeley, California.
Currently he is Partner and Head of Research and Development at So.Tel, where he is leading the development of M2M solutions based on wireless networks.
He is a Board Member and President of the Italian Chapter of BAIA – Business Association Italy America.
